Making in the Library!

Jumping into adding a Makerspace this year. Rearranged the library, painted the walls in a corner  ‘green’, and today explored kinetic energy with some 5th graders.

The pipe insulation worked out really well.Boys working on creating a marble ramp with pipe insulation. I cut them in half so one 6 ft. length turned into 12 feet. It twists easily to may a loop-to-loop for the marble.

It was a great exploration of kinetic energy. One group of boys started small and with each success made their ramp more intricate.

I need to practice watching them work and taking video at the same time. 😉

Below is a quick glance of the excitement of learning and making!
